We have added another ten badges to our music passport, discovering new pitches, rhythms and the concept of metre.
Learning Through Feeling, Not Just Theory

But this is not dry theory. Each discovery is underpinned by feeling - feeling whether a new pitch is higher or lower, and how much higher or lower than known ones. How to play tunes with a new pitch on instruments. Feeling how many sounds there are to a beat (or no sound at all). Feeling the difference between two-time and three-time (part of aural grades for instrumentalists) because we move so much in our games and activities.

Just as important as learning the nuts and bolts of music, though, is being in a nurturing space where self-expression is welcomed and practised regularly. The children shape songs and activities through suggestions and improvisation. Our Music Adventurers love being curious about music, they love discovering new concepts and mastering new skills
